Meet the Trustees
We are Matt and Meg, and we started Young Bones in November 2023. We are both qualified physiotherapists. We met whilst working as Physios in youth sport, where we worked together on a project to identify and manage RED-S.
In May 2024 we became a small charity and hope to now begin fundraising to help young people with, or at risk of low bone density.
-
Founder and ChairMatthew graduated from The University of Essex with a BSc in Sports Therapy and an Msc in pre-registration Physiotherapy.
His interest in bone health started whilst working in youth sport where along side Megan, they began to work on a project to identify and manage Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (REDs). The limited research and lack of knowledge in the general population inspired Matt to want to educate people about low bone density in young people.
He currently works as a Physiotherapist at Nuffield Health.

Laura Biggs
Company Secretary
Laura is a young professional working as a trainee solicitor in the city of London. Exercise has always been a large part of her life, playing competitive sport from a young age. Her current focus is long distance running!
Laura and Meg first met at senior school and they have been firm friends since. Laura has supported Meg throughout her initial misdiagnosis, subsequent malnutrition and low bone density. Seeing Meg’s struggle has really motivated Laura to do what she can to combat the issues in this field and protect others from experiencing what Meg has. Laura is excited to bring her skills to the Young Bones team and make a difference.
